    I have officially become a Microsoft hater. It seems like none of the video features on my new laptop quite work as they should. This is but one of many problems for which there seem to be no solutions. And the support now consists almost entirely of "try this, try that" and hearsay; very few well-researched knowledge base articles are written.

    Possibly you might get some help, if you were to provide some real info:
    Model of laptop, and full hardware specs.
    What version of Vista.
    Detailed problem descriptions -
         what are you trying to do?
         what are you expecting to happen?
         what is really happening?
         If the problem is with, say, specific video filetypes, what are they?  What do you have installed, codec-wise?

    Many of us are here to help.  However, much like Johnny 5, we need input.  Smile
