  • Hi Cherukuri19,

The error indicates that the length of the input column URN is larger than the target column in the SQL Server table. To avoid this issue, we need to convert the data type of the column URN appropriately before inserting them into the SQL Server table. To check the data type mismatch, you can do as follows:

    1. Right click on the OLE DB Destination, and open the Advanced Editor.
    2. Switch to the Input and Output Properties tab, expand the OLE DB Destination Input node.
    3. Check the data type of the URN column of the External Columns folder, it is the data type expected by the SQL Server table.
    4. Check the data type of the URN column of the Input Columns folder, the data type should mismatch with the expected data type (including data type length).
    5. Then, we need to use a Data Conversion transform to convert the data type to the expected one.

  • What are the transformations have you used after reading the data ? Is it possible that input field lengthe is greater than the target table column length?

  • "Invalid character value for cast specification" indicted a schema violation on the target. Inspect the values, typically it is due to a value not fitting into a datatype e.g. 2005-12 would not qualify for a valid date.

To pinpoint the issue fast enable redirection of error rows if the package fails somewhere in the middle and inspect the values.
