Lithnet: The given key was not present in the dictionary. RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm using the Lithnet modules in a FIM workflow. The workflow uses something like:

    $VAR = Get-Resource -ID $ID

If a workflow is applied to let's see 50 people objects, I might get 5 errors logged saying "The given key was not present in the dictionary." (System.Collections.Generic.KeyNotFoundException) when using the above command.

If I manually run Get-Resource -ID ?? with the ObjectID of any of those 5 people objects, it finds the resource without any problems.

Almost looks like a timing issue? Ie the system is to busy?

    Anyone any ideas

  • If you rerun it for the failed users, does it actually succeed?  I doubt. In that case the it is not timing issue, but bad data.

I believe the error means the AttributeName is incorrect, or it may be missing (not present)

  • If I export all 'failed' object IDs to a text file and rerun the script using that file as 'input', it can find the objects.

    Thnx

  • This does not answer my question. If you try to run the export again, do these objects fail all the time?

I think answer is YES, which means it is an issue with these users, not timeout.

  • No the failing objects are random.

  • You still have not answered my question. Does any of the failing object ever succeed, after re-try?
