App-V Database Changeout for Lab Testing

Question
-
Hi Everyone,
Is there an "easy" way to changeout the database used by the App-V management server? (v4.5+)
I wanted to test some stuff in a lab environment. I'd like to point to App-V to arbitrary databases on the same SQL server. Is this something that requires a complete reinstall or can I mod a working App-V managment server install ?
Thanks,
SC

Hello,
You could probably do a backup -> restore -> install a new management server against restored database without issues

The database connection details are stored in: C:\Program Files\Microsoft System Center App Virt Management Server\App Virt Management Service\SftMgmt.udl
You could modify the connection properties (right click the file and choose properties); however the server details must exist in the database you are connecting to. See this whitepaper for scripting operations on the database: http://download.microsoft.com/download/1/6/1/161042F3-9CDE-45F7-BC20-4FBDA8888890/Creating_new_db_using_sql_scripting.docx
