Certain music CD's not read on iTunes for Windows Vista RRS feed

  • Question

  • I recently bought a couple of music CD's to import onto my iPod, but when I inserted one of them in the CD drive iTunes could not automatically read it. Then I inserted the other CD into the drive and that couldn't be read automatically either. I borrowed a CD from my parents and iTunes read it without trouble. I don't understand why the two CD's I recently bought can't be read.  Please let me know if there is a solution to this.

  • Hi,

Can you see the CD from "My computer"? If so, it could be an issue with iTune. It is suggested to contact iTunes to check if any setting is changed or corrupt.

Please Note: Since the website is not hosted by Microsoft, the link may change without notice. Microsoft does not guarantee the accuracy of this information.

Meanwhile, I also did some research and post the following method for your information.

If iTunes doesn't recognize an audio CD (it doesn't appear in the Source list), quit iTunes, then open it again by double-clicking the application icon in the iTunes folder in the Program Files folder on your hard disk. Do not open it using the iTunes shortcut on your desktop. If iTunes recognizes the CD now, delete the iTunes shortcut and create a new one. Choose Edit > Preferences and click Importing. If the "Use error correction when reading Audio CDs" checkbox is not selected, select it. If it's already selected, deselect it.

Or you can uninstall and reinstall iTunes.

    Regards,
