PDF files sent to MS Outlook 2013 RRS feed

  • Question

  • All,

We have ERP application that can able to send invoice, requisition and PO for approval in form of PDF files. We are using Gmail as web based client as well as MS Outlook. We are just wondering why the gmail/web based access can able to open all PDF files attachment but most often those files were downloaded to front end user using Outlook with POP config and PDF are won't open, it just like corrupted r damaged.

    Thanks to all...

  • Hi,

Do you mean for the same message, the PDF file can be opened from Gmail web based access while the file cannot be opened in Outlook?

May I know how did you open the PDF attachment in Outlook? Did you double-click the PDF file within the message to open it? What if we save the PDF file to your local drive and then open it?

How many users are affected? What PDF reader do you use? Please make sure you are using the latest available version of the PDF reader and then test it again to see the result.

    Regards,
    Steve Fan

  • Hi Steve,

Thank you so much on your reply. I tried both, open in outlook and copying it on local drive but both were not success.

We are using Adobe Pro XI

  • Hi Topher,

Since you didn't mention it, I'd like to confirm that you mean you have the Gmail configured in your Outlook as POP3 account, and the same PDF attachment can be viewed from Gmail web mail but not from Outlook client, correct? If this is the case, it's probably that the email/attachment was not correctly downloaded to your Outlook from mail server. You may try to forward the email from Gmail webmail to yourself and check the forwarded message in Outlook. See whether you can open the PDF attachment.

    Regards,
    Steve Fan
