error code 80070005 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was following "poshby" post dated Monday January 21, 2008 to overcome error code 80070005. After following the first few steps (stopped just before: now create a new folder called SoftwareDistribution in c:\Windows) I decided to reverse the few steps I had followed and to see if I could find another solution. Unfortunately, after reversing the changes I had made to my computer I can no longer enable "windows updates”  at all. The computer just keeps looking for the program.  Can anyone help me check the correct settings so that windows updates will work again.   Replies will be very much appreciated.  Thanks
