Relaying to an external email RRS feed

  • One of my email addresses is forwarded to another account at a different server. While, I can receive email from within the domain that is forwarded, email from external domains is not being forwarded. No errors are being returned to the senders of the email and it appears to be accepting the emails but simply not forwarding them.

    I have been told that the steps they followed to create my account are:

    created a active directory user ,

    did not create an email user account but

    right clicked on exchange task

    and added send to an external email address.

    This works for emails originating from within their domain but fails on the external emails. I am guessing that it has to due with security setting forbidding open relaying.

    Help !!

    I can go to their office and they will give me administrative rights to fix this but I am at a loss as how to fix it.  I cannot make them an open relay but I change my account anyway that I would like it.
