Ms Office Uninstall and Install from MDT Task Sequence without OSD RRS feed

  • Hi ,

    I need to uninstall earlier version of Ms Office installed and installed a new version of Ms office from MDT Task Sequence without OSD... How can we do that from MDT Task sequence .. Please suggest

  • Create a custom task sequence, which:

    - checks if any version of office is installed, and uninstall it. Or use an MSP to install the new version of Office, which lets you decide to deïnstall any version of Office it encounters.

    - perform a reboot, just to be sure (test this out, if this is necessary)

    - install Office with a custom msp file.

    You can call the task sequence during logon, activated by a vbscript which calls litetouch.vbs /tasksequenceid:<specified task sequence id>

    So basically you are making a deployment mechanism out of mdt.

  • There are no commands built into MDT per-se that remove applications.

    Anything done would need to be either a command line: msiexec /x <GUID> or script.

  • thanks for your reply i will check. but what are the process to only uninstall the installed applications from client machines through  MDT task sequence... can this be done through MDT?

    Can you please share the steps..

    but there are many Uninstall String of Office Components as below screenshots, in such case how can we completely uninstall the Office 2010 or 2013?  what would be the Command line for that in Custom MDT TS?
