MDT 2012 - Roles not working RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello all,

    Hopefully something easy...

I've setup MDT 2012 to use a database. The database seems to be working fine. I've added a Computer to it and in that computer's details I've given it a name. The name comes through just fine.

So next I created a role (Test Role)to select the default TaskSequenceID.

I've then added Test Role to the Computer.

Unfortunately the task that I've put in the Role's TaskSequenceID is not being selected. However, if I set the TaskSequenceID in the Computer it does get selected.

Currently the database is configured to query everything.

So why the issues with the role and the TaskSequenceID?

I did come across another thread about a blank DeployWiz_Validation.vbs. I do seem to have a pretty blank DeployWiz_Validation.vbs. Could that be the issue? I attempted to follow along with the fix, but that didn't seem to help. Although I may have not followed it correctly to be honest.

  • Did a little digging and it even seems as the database is working correctly as the queries are pulling the roles that are associated with the computer. Could there be something wrong in my CS.ini file?

About to issue SQL statement: SELECT * FROM ComputerRoles WHERE UUID = '836EAA39-2380-F744-AC06-C0ABF7554A65' OR SERIALNUMBER = '0' OR MACADDRESS IN ('08:00:27:B1:0F:55')
    Successfully queried the database.
Records returned from SQL = 2
    Property ROLE001 is now = Trainer-2013
Added ROLE value from SQL:  ROLE = Trainer-2013
    Property ROLE001 is now = Trainer-2013
Property ROLE002 is now = TEST ROLE
Added ROLE value from SQL:  ROLE = TEST ROLE
