Win7 hangs after startup RRS feed

  • Question

  • Have a weird problem. Win7 hangs and i get a black screen just after the "loading windows" screen.

I can start up in safe mode, and if i uninstall my ION graphics card i can start up in normal also.

If i reinstall the card i'm back to the freezing part.

Does this mean my graphics card is broken or can it be something else?

  • Hi,

If so, I think it is a hardware related issue.

Maybe you could try to install another display card for a test.

  • 1. First of all, you have not specified exactly the graphics model and computer model.

    2. If you have notebook, then you should stick with drivers that notebook vendor provides.

    3. It would not make any harm, if you contact notebook/ graphics card support forum. Chances are that you are not alone in this situation.

    4. Hope you have your system fully updated and the same is true for AV program.

    5. Try clean boot and log booting proces (setting in F8 menu)

    6. Try the graphics in another computer (unless it is notebook.)

    Report back your findings

    Regards

  • It's a embedded desktop ION card, the card worked perfectly untill yesterday, i had not updated the drivers, but it suddenly stopped working. Updating to the newest drivers didn't help either.
