  • Question

  • Hi

I have a document that has 72.5 kb size - I also have a screenshot of the same document that is on originators computer but their document properties have a size of 0 kb - how can this be? Also can you change the date on the property of a document by changing the settings of the computer to the date and time you want it to have and then save the document under this new time setting?

I look forward to your reply

  • Hi,

Please open the document which size is shown 0kb on originators computer, click FILE > Info, check the size for this document. Alternatively, click Properties > Advanced Properties, check the Size in General tab.

If you want to change the Last Modified date to an earlier date for a document, please keep your physical computer offline, change the local date and time to a new time for this computer, open the document, do any changes and save as a new document. Alternatively, create a new document then copy/paste content from that document to the new document, save it under new computer time. Check the date properties for new document.

After you do the changes for the document, please make sure you have changed the Windows date and time back with Internet time immediately to confirm any other Windows updates and features can work fine.

    Regards,

  • If you create a Word document by right-clicking the desktop and choosing New | Microsoft Word Document, its size may appear as zero initially, before you actually open the document and start editing it. Other than that particular case, a zero size document may indicate a damaged file.
