SCCm2012 R2 CU3 version # not showing on the site settings or in the console on the client info. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, I'm installing SCCM2012 R3 and applying Cu3 on in a new environment which never had SCCM/SCCM on.  Once it was installed successfully, I realize the CU level is 3 in the registry but the "Full Version" still stayed at 1000 instead of 1401.  the client upgrade package was applied and so was the console upgrade package.  When I open the console then look at the site version, its still at 5.00.7958.1000 instead of 5.00.7958.1401.  Also when I look at the devices client versions  are also at 1000 instead of 1401.  Is there something wrong here?

  • AFAIK that information is sent to the site via the heartbeat discovery. You sure the last heartbeat was after the client upgrade? Try triggering a manual data discovery cycle, it should show the updated information within minutes.

  • you were so right.  You are genius... :)

So the site will always show as 1000 as I read many blogs....  It will only show up to 1000 and not 1401.

    Thanks Peter!

  • The site version in the console will always stay at the latest major build version, which in your case is the R2 version. The client will show the right version in the console after applying the latest CU update and after that running a heartbeat discovery (or manually trigger a data discovery cycle).

  • Hi Peter thanks for responding!

I am looking at the client version on the workstations it shows 1401.  But the console has not populated to 1401 version in devices when I look.  I do see latest heartbeat ddr and disvoeries....  any other thoughts???

  • You can always check the About Configuration Manager option from the top menu in the console. This will give you the release version.
