event ID 2159 - MSExchange ADAccess RRS feed

  • Exchange 2010 Enterprise RTM update roll up2 - windows 2k8 R2 enterprise.

    server has been migrated to from exchange 2003 to exchange 2010. It has been 4 months and I am continuing to see this warning on the cas server's event log. Is there something I can do to have this fixed ?

Configuration object CN=SMTP (EX23K1-{981D34F5-355C-4C9C-A92F-5F6CF2A088A8}),CN=Connections,CN=LOCALDOMAIN,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=localdomain,DC=com read from dc2.localdomain.com failed validation and will be excluded from the result set.  Set event logging level for Validation category to Expert to get additional events about each failure.

    Could you point me to the right direction and tell me exactly where is the object located in adsiedit.msc.

    Since exchange 2003 servers has been removed from the enterprise, I am surprise these server objects still around in AD.

     CN=SMTP (EX23K1-{981D34F5-355C-4C9C-A92F-5F6CF2A088A8}),CN=Connections,CN=LOCALDOMAIN,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=localdomain,DC=com

     

    Be sure not to remove anything else.

  • Does the object exist? Is the RGC removed between 2010 and 2003?

    Thank you for your reply.  RGC has been removed, the object is (CN=SMTP (EX23K1) is  an exchange 2003 server. this server has been uninstalled from the domain.

    Sounds like an orphaned object . I would delete it if the 2003 servers are all gone.
