SharePoint 2013 Licensing Question RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi, guys.

    I have SharePoint Server 2013.

100 internal users with 20% concurrent connections(20 users). 10% of them require some Enterprise functionality.

According to this, I need the following stack of licenses linked to the Sharepoint only:

-1 SharePoint Server 2013 Enterprise license (1 per server instance)

    -100 SharePoint Server Standart CAL

    -10 SharePoint Server Enterprise CAL

    Am I right?

I've heard, that you may get licenses by the amount of concurrent connections only (20 in my case)..

  • You won't have the ability to create a mixed environment, it's either a standard license or an enterprise one. As far as I know, there's no way to limit just those 10 users to the Enterprise features.

And whilst I can't advise fully on the concurrent licenses, it would be hard to track.  Might be worth having a chat with an MS Partner

  • Thank you for the reply!

The question was mainly about concurrent licenses. I already know, that Enterprise CAL is only required for users, who will access enterprise content, regardless of no way to limit the other users.
