IIS worker process consuming high CPU because of wsuspool RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

I am currently encountering a problem with our WSUS server running with our SCCM server. I had to rebuild the WSUS server due to some issues being encountered. I was able to successfully install the WSUS service with a SQL database setup. The post installation finished successfully. As I know, I had to re-sync the WSUS to Windows update again. I noticed that IIS worker process is consuming almost 70 to 80% of CPU. Checking the IIS console>Worker process, WSUS Pool has the biggest CPU usage. I am thinking that this is because clients are connecting to the WSUS server all at the same time. Would there be any workaround to limit the client connection initially, given that my guess is right?

Are there other things that I need to check that would relate to the high CPU usage of IIS?

    Hoping for your positive response.

    Thanks!
