Send-mail message

    Question

  • I able to SendAs someone else(UserX) in our organisation using  the powershell command Send-MailMessage. I don't have SendAS permissions on the UserX mailbox that I am sending as. I have checked it through EMC and through AD users account properties. Also I could sendas  someone  who didn't exist in our organisation. The server that I am sending from isn't allowed to relay emails. We are still using Exchange 2010.

    Send-MailMessage -to me@company.com  -from: UserX@company.com -subject "test" -smtpserver Exchange2010nlb.company.com

    Send-MailMessage -to me@company.com  -from: UserEmailDoesntexist@company.com  -subject "test" -smtpserver Exchange2010nlb.company.com

I can't figure it out  how this is possible.
