Exchange 2007 CCR nodes not discovered with SCOM 2007 R2 RRS feed

  • Question

  • I'm currently trying to configure intra-organization mail flow monitoring, and am unable to do so because only the cluster shows up in the search results.  The mailbox nodes cannot be queried.  This is a new all-in-one deployment of SCOM 2007 R2 installed on Windows Server 2008 R2/SQL Server 2008 SP.  SCOM was upgraded to the latest service pack (CU4) prior to deploying any agents.  The Exchange 2007 service is healthy under "Distributed Applications."  I created overrides for all the prerequisite discoveries":

Exchange 2007 CCR Clustered Mailbox Server Role Discovery

Exchange 2007 CCR Node Role Discovery

Exchange 2007 Standalone CCR Node Discovery

    Exchange 2007 CAS Role Discovery

Exchange 2007 Hub Transport Role Discovery

    Exchange 2007 Edge Role Discovery

    Exchange 2007 UM Role Discovery

The operation manager event log on each of the CCR nodes shows no errors (even after stopping and re-starting the SCOM agent).  Under the Monitoring view-->Exchange 2007-->Server State, all servers are listed and assigned to the correct role (including the mailbox servers & the CCR cluster).  Under the Monitoring view-->Exchange 2007-->Mailbox-->Mailbox Server States, only the cluster is listed.  Any ideas?

  • John,

All the Exchange server SCOM agents have been configured to act as a proxy.
