Sharepoint 2007 and InDesign files RRS feed

    Hi,

    Our users sometimes have issues with opening up indesign files from within Sharepoint 2007. When trying to open they get the following error message:

    Cannot open the document "[document name]". You may not have permission or the document may already be open.

    The strange thing is, usually when they try later... It works!

    Any idea on why this happens and how it can be avoided or solved?

    I don't kinow if this is appl;icable for Adobe files but in older versions of Office when files were opened from SharePoint whilst njot being checked out, the client application would apply a 10 minute write copy on the same one.

    If you also turn on checking options for your site/library, you should be able to avoid this.

    Hi,

    Go to the document library settings and check if required check out is enabled or not.
