KPI Details RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all,

Using SharePoint 2010s KPI Detail web part I want to add additional metadata.

However using the custom property in the dashboard designer displays the information in an unattractive fashion.

Is there a better way to add additional metadata on the KPI Details (without utilising SSRS as a new report).

    Thanks in advance,

    Clint

  • When you have finalized your dashboard work, you do have the option to do Edit Web Part in SharePoint where you specify the zone's width & height in pixels, points, or cm (etc.). You do not have the latter options in PerformancePoint as it defines the workspace in percentage of your screen's size resolution.

If already familiar with HTML, think of <tables> properties.

    Hope this helps.

  • In the end we solved this by building SSRS reports for our KPI Details.  Is much easier to manage and format.

If you think the way KPI details web part is unattractive, please suggest how would you like to view your KPI details.

    Hope it helps.

  • Hi,

    Thanks for your response,

I have no issues with the KPI details as a standard report.

However,  if one needs to add additional Metadata to the KPI Details it does become a bit ugly.

In the Dashboard designer one needs to create a custom property.

This property is then displayed in the KPI Details as such:

    --------------------------------------

    Custom Properties
    • Name: Business Owner
    • Type: Text
    • Description: XXXX
    Tom Brady
    --------------------------------------

Business users do not want to see the type of property or the description.  Standard metadata in the KPI Details look like this:
    ----------------------------------------
    • Metric: Actuals
    • Measure: Sales
    • Row Path: Lead Indicators/Incremental Sales
    • Column Path: Actuals
    • Responsibility: Wes Welker
    ----------------------------------------
This means for every custom property 4 lines of text appear,  rather than one.  This is unattactive.

  • Agreed with AshVsAOD.

Plus another issue I am facing is that the KPI Details report would not fit in a particular zone and no matter what zone size you set, it always has scroll bars.

Has anybody else faced the same issue?
