GPO ERROR - unable to apply

    Question

  • When try to update the GPO policy which is not getting applied on client machine either on DC.

    do let me know what could be the issue, error message as below.

    User Policy update has completed successfully.
    Computer policy could not be updated successfully. The following errors were enc
    ountered:

    The processing of Group Policy failed. Windows could not apply the registry-base
    d policy settings for the Group Policy object LDAP://CN=Machine,cn={C04FE840-0FC
    3-4A02-95CB-468E2F34A153},cn=policies,cn=system,DC=DOMAIN,DC=com. Group Policy
     settings will not be resolved until this event is resolved. View the event deta
    ils for more information on the file name and path that caused the failure.

    To diagnose the failure, review the event log or run GPRESULT /H GPReport.html f
    rom the command line to access information about Group Policy results.

    Please check the gpo related eventlogs to see If you could get any useful information for this issue.

    windows logs->applications and services logs->Microsoft->windows->Group Policy

    Besides, please check your replication folder in sysvol , if any issue occurs, please try a non authoritative restore on the failing DC.

  • Hi,

    upon checking sysvol folder initially found one folder(C04FE840-0FC
    3-4A02-95CB-468E2F34A153) which has in error mention in the original post. was not synced since long time after syncall initiated though this folder not getting synced now.

    We manually copied the folder and now getting with other where the folder already exists with same kind of error message.
