downgrade from 2016 std to 2012

    I have 2016 STD with 16 Core DVD COA license with 3 years of SA. I have downgraded it but it is showing evaluation copy register it.

  • By 'downgrade', can we assume that you performed a re-installation of the operating system (as there is no supported way to change an installation of 2016 to 2012)?  Can we assume that you used the evaluation copy of Windows Server 2012 when you installed 2012 on the system?

    COA implies that your original installation was an OEM installation.  That means that the license is sold with the hardware and often requires the use of OEM media in order to accomplish an installation.  Also part of the OEM agreement is that the OEM will handle all customer requests for licensing modifications.  So you need to contact your OEM to see if they will provide you with a key to activate your downgraded environment.
