Moss and PWA upgrade from 2k7 - 2k10 -> 2 problems RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

We are just about completed with our upgrade from Moss and PWA 2007 - 2010. Did a side by Side upgrade by attaching the DB's on the new server.

We have 2 issues at this point:

    • How do we link PWA with our intranet site. On the lod site looks like this:

    http://site

then we had a link on it to point

"http://site/pwa" to the PWA site which is located at http://servername:port/pwa

    • Secondly we have got quite a few Project websites. We usually found it under PWA at the bottom if you logged in. It is not there. How do i find out if it is there or how do i get it back?So how do we find/link project sites?

    Hope this makes sense

    Thanks

  • Ok, working.

Deleted the PWA site and recreated it under the Main site. Bonus is that somehow that is where my PWA sites was also located so everything working now.

Will move it to it's own db again later.

  • Hello TheWall_RSA

It sounds like  you want to set AAM (Alternate Access Methods) for linking different URLs to your PWA.  You do this in SharePoint Central Admin.

  • Hi,

regarding to your second question: The webpart with links to project websites in the start page is gone in 2010. You can go there from Project Center - selecting a project - "Project Site"  or from any Project Detail Page with "Project Site" (both on the ribbon).

  • That is what i have been trying...

The url need to be http://inet/pwa

it wont allow that url if i try it. Think it is the "/" in it...?

  • Do you have the DNS defined for "INET"?

    Cheers!

  • mmm, i have tried that, when i goto the site it does not get it so think i might have missed a step to get it imported?

I can see all the site's under the "Project Sites" page but there is no urls in the "Site Address" Tap....?

  • yes DNS is working.

So if i type in Inet i get the the Intranet. When i click on a link in the Inet...called PWA, it does not work. (http://inet/pwa)

So i need a alternet access mapping for the following:

    Current site name: http://servername:port/pwa

    Need to work on http://inet/pwa

    It wont except inet/pwa
