The server ask to install Update for Skype for Business 2015 (KB3161988) 32-Bit Edition RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi,

Anybody can explain me why server ask to install Update for Skype for Business 2015 (KB3161988) 32-Bit Edition, actually this server doesn't have installed the Skype for Business. I have found the https://products.office.com/en/business/microsoft-office-volume-licensing-suites-comparison#a  about Office Professional Plus 2016, but I'm not sure about this. Thanks.

    Regards,

    Sergiu

  • Hi Sergiu,

Because Skype for business 2016 is included in Office 2016, so this KB will be installed on this server to make sure it is latest.

  • Hi Sergiu,

Did you install Lync 2013 on this server? Or Office 2016?

To this issue, we suggest you open “Control Pane”-> “Programs”->”Uninstall a program”, then check whether there is office 2016, Skype for business or Lync 2013 was installed on this server. If there is in it, this KB will be installed on this server.

  • Thanks for replay,

In “Control Pane”-> “Programs”->”Uninstall a program” I don't have Lync 2013 or Skype for business, but I've Office Professional Plus 2016. This is all about Microsoft installed products.

    Sergiu
