Error connecting to MS Projects from Project Server, Delegate session not active RRS feed

  • Question

  • I am having an issue that occured out of no where when I was delegating as a user yesterday. After delegating, I probably didn't stop delegation. Today, I tried accessing my projects in server but I am getting the pop up that says "Project Server could not complete the command you requested from Project Professional because you currently have an active delegate session in PWA". I checked, I stopped the delegation and says that I do not currently have any delegates. I Also removed all my delegates from manage delegates and this message still occurs. I tried restarting project and restarting my computer but to no avail. I am still not able to access my projects. There are no delegates, why does it say this message still??

  • This seems to be an issue that I have seen quite a bit lately.  Before and during the delegation make sure that Project Professional is closed.  Then, after you are done delegating, in PWA, click on another link within PWA - like go to that Tasks or Resources or Project Center as yourself.  That seems to clear it up and "release" the delegation session.  Then you can open up Project Professional.  Having delegates in the Manage Delegations shouldn't have any effect to this situation.

  • Sometimes you can see amazing thing

    For example, you have 2 URL's:  http://server/pwa and http://server.company.com/pwa

If you open delegate session in one of the URL's and after some time You stop it. In other URL the delegate session will continue.

So, You should chek account settings in MS Project and open the URL from there. Maybe you will see suspended delegate session there.
