How do I stop Vista from asking "What do you want to do? for attached hard drive? RRS feed

    I have an outboard, eSATA connected, box with 2 RAID 5 arrays that I use to store media.   I leave the box turned off until I want to access a media file stored on the box.  When I turn on the power to the outboard drive arrays, Vista asks what I want to do.  How can I configure Vista to just 'do nothing' when these drives are turned on and not ask me what I want to do?

    Hi GranDan,

     

    You can prevent the popup by disable autoplay. Please go to Control Panel\Hardware and

    Sound\AutoPlay, uncheck the "Use Auto Play for all media and devices". Also you can adjust the

    settings as you want.
