RDP into my PC RRS feed

  • Question

  • Trying to RDP into my PC. When I set my local ID on the PC I’m trying to RDP into to administrator I can log in via RDP. When I set my ID on the PC to Other and select ‘Remote Desktop User’ it does not allow me to Log in ... It just hangs. Why do I have to set the ID tto o Administrator in order to RDP? Why can’t setting it to Remote Desktop User work?

0.can you enter winver in command prompt on local computer and remote computer then look the os version and os version number ?[for example windows 10  enterprise 1809 (os build 17763.316)]

1.what's "my local ID" meaning ?do you mean local account on remote computer or do you mean other id number ?

2.are you using Microsoft remote desktop connection software remote access from local computer to your remote pc?

3.are local computer and remote pc in the same AD domain or in the same workgroup ?
