no start menu nothing. just a black screen RRS feed

  • Im having a problem with windows itself. I can get on line but no start menu comes up. Its just a BLACK SCREEN. WHAT DOD I DO?

    PLEASE HELP

    Please share us more detail as Cyber_Defend_Team and Acreed02 mentioned.

    Do you mean that you get the black screen after you logon the Windows?

    If you just can’t start the computer, we need to check the hardware.

    If we logon and see the black screen , please take the following steps for troubleshooting:
    1. Reinstall your video driver
    2. Check for registry issues
    Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Winlogon and check if the value of shell is explorer.exe
    3. Start the safe mode and check if the issue still exists.

  • Since when this problem started?

    Did you downloaded or installed any programs before this problem started?

    Update your graphic card.

    We are going to need a bit more detail to help you out. Please let us know what changes (if any) were made to the computer before this happened. Can you post screenshots of what your desktop looks like? Did your icons disappear? As much detail as you can will help us help you.
