RDP into PC with Dial up on RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello, I have a PC in one of offices that is located on LAN (ip 10.2.1.1) and I am RDPing from PC on network 10.1.1.1. All works ok, until destination PC connects to Dial-up for one of the programs. I lose connection to pc from remote office, but still able to connect from any PC on same subnet. How can I resolve the issue and be able to connect from both offices? all PC's are XP sp3 with no firewall enabled.

  • Browse to the dial up connection configuration, open the networking tab and check the settings for IP (v4) uncheck the option to use the default gateway on the remote network. This should enable you to keep your rdp session running. However, depending on the network infrastructure you connect to and from, it might cause other routing issues when connection to services hosted on the remote network.
