Skype for business monitor when user logouts RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello, we are using skype for business server 2015 and polycom vvx 311 phones. The phones are signed in with s4b users, and from time to time they just random sign out of the phone, and then needs to be manually logged in. Is there a way, to monitor these logouts, to log in the phone, before users starts complaining about phone not working?

  • Not in Skype, but perhaps on the Polycom phones.  My suspicion would be that they're not logging out, but rebooting.  You'd need a Polycom provisioning server set up, and you'd need to configure the phones to write their logs back to that server.  On that server, the phones will write the log file with it's mac-address in the name.  You'd need some sort of system to monitor those logs and alert you.  So, possible yes, but easy no, and built-in definitely not.

  • Sorry for late reply ,had a lot of other jobs to do. It seems like the users don't just randomly sign out of the phones, but the phone reboots randomly, and some times after that reboot it can't sign in succesfully. Reboots may occur because of faulty POE, I think.
Links proposed one post above works with CX Polycom phones, but don't work with VVX.
