Like to take a list of client machine names which is updating the group policy from the specific domain controllers.

    Question

  • Hi All,

1.In my environment we are having three domain controllers in a single forest. On that We would like to take a list of client machine names which is updating the group policy from the specific domain controllers.

we have checked randomly on the some clients machines which is updating the group policy from a specific domain controller rather choosing the other two DC'S.For that we have used the command gpresult /R on those client machines but for us it is too difficult to run the same command in all the client machines because here we are having 8000 client machines. So please tell us is there is any way to achieve my scenario via commands or else through scripts ?

2.What will be the back end process done by the windows client machines to update the group policies from the domain controllers?

3.How to make the windows client machines to update the group policies by choosing the domain controllers randomly rather than preferring the single DC for group policy update on client machines ?

    Environment Info :

    domain name -- abc.com

    domain controllers :

    server1 - PDC - production site

    server2 - ADC - Production site

    Server3 - ADC - DR site

    Note :

Ad sites and services are configured properly.

There is no replication issues between the domain controllers

All of your suggestions are much appreciated:)

    Thanks & Regards S.Nithyanandham
