"Version: You are editing the Shared Version of this page"

Suddenly,when I am editing a page as Admin, I see the following banner: Version: You are editing the Shared Version of this page

I am able to add a Web Part to a page, but I am not able to move the web part around, for example or remove a web part from a page. While there are other forum topics on this issue, I have not been able to ascertain how to return to publishing without this banner appearing. We are using MOSS 2007.

Thanks to share your post.

For the issue, do you mean that you cannot remove the web part in the page? If yes, my suggestion is Append”? Contents=1” to the web part page's URL to display the Web part Maintenance Page. On that page you can delete the malefactor.
For example: http://moss/default.aspx?contents=1.
