Internet explorer 6 causing CPU spikes RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi We have 3 windows 2003 terminal servers which have approx 30 users each. The servers have started to suffer from spikes in the CPU usage and the culprit frequently seems to be process Iexplorer.exe. A specific users Iexplorer.exe process can take 25% of the processor. The version installed is Internet explorer 6. Can anybody make any recommendations on what I can do to cure this.

    iexplorer.exe  would be malware for sure.
    Otherwise find out what it is doing and where it is going.

    There are good reasons (besides the UI changes) that IE6 has been replaced by IE8.   ; }
