Project Plan Template Anomalies RRS feed

  • Question

  • I was working on a client instance of Project Server 2013 last week and we created a Project Plan Template in Project Professional 2013 complete with notes on tasks and a timeline view.

We associated the template with an EPT that had no Workflow associated with it and used that EPT to create a new project.

The Project Schedule was created based upon the template and retained its notes, yaaay!! However the Timeline was not retained, boo!

I created a new template on my instance of Project Server 2013 in the same manner and associated it with an EPT that has a Project Site Workflow associated with it.

I created a new project using my new EPT and viewed the project schedule. My task notes have gone, boo! My timeline is retained, yaay!

I created an EPT with no Site Workflow using the same Project plan Template. I created a new project using the new EPT. My task notes are still missing, boo! My timeline is retained, yaay!

Is my experience unique - is the anomaly between what is retained and what is jettisoned down to "versions" of Project Professional or "Cumulative Updates/Service Packs" for Project Server?
