SCCM Client - Software update download failed RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi

We recently migrated SCCM from 2007 to SCCM2012.During the software update patching 3 machines failed with error  " Updates advance download job completed with failure",. And in the event log I can see the below error for all the updates

    Source:        Configuration Manager Agent
    Event ID:      10025
    Level:         Error
    User:          N/A
    Description:
Download of the content "                             " - "1" has failed..
Possible cause: The content can not be found on the network, or the content could not be accessed.
Solution: Check to ensure this content has been made available on a distribution point. Check to ensure the access control list allows this program to be accessed. Check to make sure that the file system path for the content, including the path to the cache directory, is not greater than 255 characters.

Software update share folder in SCCM server where updates get downloaded ,every one has read access.

All 3 machines are in DMZ.But more than 20 other DMZ machines got update installed and in compliance state.

Can you please guide what could be wrong here....

    Thanks..........

  • See CAS.log and LocationServices.log.
"Software update share folder in SCCM server where updates get downloaded ,every one has read access": are you talking about the source of the updates package? If so: clients will never download anything from that share. It is only used to copy the binaries to a DP. Clients will download from the DP then.

  • 0x80070005 is "access denied". Have you already used that DP for downloading applications/packages? Did ti ever work?

  • Hello!

I dont' know if it's still actual but I faced with same issue two months ago and finally I found an answer. Perhaps this can help you. So if your clients are Win7/Win2008R2 machines try to install this patch:

    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2522623/en-us

    In my case it worked!
