FIM MA export failed after installing a hot fix KB2750673 RRS feed

  • Hi,

    We have installed a KB2750673 hot fix on a synchronization server of version 4.0.3644.2.

    The installation was successful and FIM MA import and synch are running properly. But when we try to export we are getting the below error:

    The description for Event ID 6500 from source FIMSynchronizationService cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

    If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

    The following information was included with the event:

    There is an error executing FIM MA export.

    Type: MIIS.ManagementAgent.Export.ExportManagerException

    Message: Exception of type 'MIIS.ManagementAgent.Export.ExportManagerException' was thrown.

    Stack Trace: at MIIS.ManagementAgent.RavenMA.WriteObjectsToDataSource(DataSourceObject dsObject, UInt32 synchronizationSequenceNumber)

    the message resource is present but the message is not found in the string/message table

    Can anyone help us out with this issue?

  • Hi Dolly,

    I see that you updated the FIM Synchronization Service Server to 3644.  Did you install 3644 onto the FIM Service and FIM Portal Server? If not, that would be the very first thing I would recommend doing.  We have seen many issues when all pieces of FIM are not at the same build. (excluding the Add-Ins and Extensions).

    Additionally, you may try, the following steps:

    1. Stop the FIM Service
    2. Stop the FIM Synchronization Service
    3. Start the FIM Synchronization Service
    4. Start the FIM Service
    5. Test your export

  • We are experiencing the same error for both import and export on the FIM MA.  We are running hotfix 4.0.3627.2.  This is a newer version than the 4.0.3617.2 that is available on the public download link on the right side of this page.  http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/forefront/cc470030.aspx

    We are unable to uninstall the update.

  • We updated the system to 3644.2 from 3627.2 and see the same error.  We were in a state where FIM Portal was at 3644.2 and sync was at 3627.2 but now both are the same level.

  • I stopped and started the service in the order Tim described above and my FIM MA is now working.
