Windows 10 Clients Updates Problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hello,i have an environment with WSUS and mixed Windows 10 Versions clients.

When a client selects check for updates normally receiving updates on the WSUS.

When a client selects check online normally receiving updates through Internet.

If a user is not located at the office(Physically or through VPN) and selects check for updates it normally trying to contact the WSUS.

The problem is that the option check online is missing for some time and only the retry option is available.

Is this the default behavior or something can be changed?

    Thank you!

  • Hi,

This behavior may be caused by changes in network settings, and clients will get update data from the intranet update service location, but not from Microsoft site.So you didn't see "Check online for updates from Microsoft Update" show on Windows Update page.
You could consider running "usoclient.exe startscan" in command, and waiting the "Check online for updates from Microsoft Update" appear.
