IC v3.1 KVP problem RRS feed

  • Question

  • I installed IC v3.1 on Cent OS 6 64bit.

    I wrote PowerShell script that poll KVP data.

    $i = 1
    while ($true) {
        Get-Date
        $i
        $kvp = Get-WmiObject -namespace root\virtualization -class Msvm_KvpExchangeComponent
        $kvp.GuestIntrinsicExchangeItems
        $i++
    }

    At first, It works well.

    GuestIntrinsicExchangeItems contains valid data.

    But running for a while, GuestIntrinsicExchangeItems becomes empty.

    What happened?

  • We've fixed the bug upstream in the Linux kernel, and we'll be releasing a new build of the LIS drivers that incorporate the fix soon.

  • Can you confirm that the hv_kvp_daemon service is running?

  • Does a reboot resolve the issue, or once it enters that state, can it no longer be resolved?

  • We've replicated this internally, and with a modified verison of your script to output the data. We're currently looking at root cause and how we can fix.
