    I am running 64 bit windows 7, I have a cannon image class #3240, I have tried updating drivers, the fax scan software says I don't have a scanner installed

    Hi CHRISBILLY.

    Is the scanner displayed in the Windows Device Manager console? If that's the case, the drivers should have been correctly installed, since the OS has detected the device: then you should contact Canon Support and ask for assistance.

    Try run,type: appwiz.cpl  in add/remove open windows components/L.sub menu,scroll to printers/fax/expand the tree/select all/close out/restart pc.This enables Print Spooler software for the OS..

    Hi,

    You can use the Troubleshooting tool built-in Windows to check the issue. Please follow the steps below to see if the scanner can be detected.

    1. Open Control Panel in your computer, view by small icons or large icons.

    2. Click Troubleshooting.

    3. Click Hardware and Sound.


    4. Click Hardware and Device in the Device section.

    5. Click Next to start troubleshooting.

    6. Follow the on-screen wizard to finish.

    7. Check if your scanner is detected and works on your computer.
