Has the new "Full write permissions" setting the same limitation with use in connection groups as the other COM integration settings? I would say yes, judging by the placement of the settings within the sequencer.
Haven't tested with a Connection Group yet but Release Notes don't indicate any issue with use in Connection Groups (Near the bottom of the page it features caveats):
