Office365 Groups - Architecture - OWA Disabled - Outlook 2016

    Question

  • Hi, this is my scenario:

    - For security concerns, we've disabled OWA for all our users in office365 - Exchange Online.

    - All users have mail access from Outlook Client App.

    - Right here, all is ok.

    - The office365 Groups are a great feature for TeamWork, we are analyzing for enable this feature.

    - We've readed than Office365 requires OWA, but OWA is disabled and won't enabled

    - From Office2016, Outlook 2016 App have all functions for Groups (Create, Membership, conversation, files, calendar, notes)

    The question is:

    * is possible use office365 groups from Outlook 2016 Client with OWA disabled?

  • Outlook 2016 should work just fine with Groups, it doesn't rely on OWA. Some features however are only available via OWA, and also OWA is where the updates come first.
