  • I´m trying to do a System State backup and i get the error:

    "..

    The backup operation that started at '‎2010‎-‎08‎-‎23T16:38:50.638987700Z' has failed with following error code '2155347997' (The operation ended before completion.). Please review the event details for a solution, and then rerun the backup operation once the issue is resolved.
    ..."

    in the C:\Windows\Logs\WindowsServerBackup there are only a .ETL file (compressed). No other files remain in the folder

    These LOGS files are not present at the end of the command

    Windows 2008 R2, Physical Server

  • The "file system limitation" error is known to occur in scenarios where the backup target is specified as a network share, but is located on the same physical server. If that is indeed the case, specifying the target using its local path should solve the problem. Can you please try that?

    I placed the local path but it gave me another error

    ERROR - The specified backup location could not be found or is not a
    supported backup storage location.

    Can you give me any suggestions. Its merely a very important and urgent for me to solve this.

  • Same problem here.

    Have you resolved it?

    BTW Sankalp's advice is misleading, you cannot point to local folder, only one of the following:

    A) Full Local Drive (separate letter) it will be reformatted and completely assigned to Backups

    B) Network Folder (UNC)

  • Even I got the same error message and after specifying a network UNC path I could able to take the system state backup..  Thanks Sankalp.
