creating an index with a concordance file~ word 2003 RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi all~ I'm building an index using a concordance file (in word 2003), and everything seems to work fine~~ except those items that have sub-entries. I've looked at example after example, and can't seem to wrap my brain around how to translate those examples to my own project. (For the record, I'm well-aware that this is part brain block and part the specific project I'm working on, which might~ also for the record~ be haunted.)

How, for example, would you list the following index item in the concordance file?

Coca (main item); as offering, chewing, divination with (as subentries)

    or

Crystal (main); Mirror, Snake-Eye, White Ray

Any tips, also, for troublesome sub-entries? Short of doing a control F for the whole document?

Any and all help is welcome and appreciated!!

  • Hi

Are you using a table with two columns?  The first column is the main entry, the second the sub entry (Format is Main:Sub in column 2).

Have read of this link for the exact information.
