Regarding Search feature for a dimension on ProClarity Professional RRS feed

  • Question

  • We are having a problem with search feature on ProClarity. We have a cube built over MSAS 2000(the DW is in Oracle 9i) and we are creating reports using ProClarity 6.2 over it.We have created a dimension called customerID which has a parent child relation between the levels and has member properties for customer name and ID.When I go and search by Customer name the search window in ProClarity Professiona it shows 'No Results found' although the records are present and can be searched if we search by number/ID.
Let me know what can be the possible reasons for the same to occur.

  • The search in ProClarity is just a use of the InStr function.  You can see this if you examine the queries being sent to the server during for the search.  So, when you do that search it will just looking for matching strings to the one you've entered.  If you're quite confident you should be getting results, you might try the advanced search and try searching on just a particular level to see if you get different results.
