How do I build a log file monitor in SCOM for Linux logs?

using SCOM 2012 R2

I need to build a Linux log file monitor for the /var/log/messages: log.

Is this the same as building a log file monitor for Windows?

Hello!

SCOM 2012 R2 has a builtin template for UNIX/Linux Log file monitoring, which you can find in the Authoring pane, under Management Pack Templates.

You can refer to the step-by-step guide below on how to set up log file monitoring for Linux logs:
