I am unable to install the .NET 3.5 Framework on Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit. RRS feed

  • Question

  • Hi.

I just installed my release version of Windows 7 Ultimate 64Bit the other day, and have been busy installing my software back onto the system.  I am having an issue with a few of my applications and I need some help.  These apps and games require the .NET framework version 3.5 SP1 to run correctly.  So being unable to determine if it was included in Win 7, I downloaded the installer and tried to install it.  I get the little box asking if I want to run the program, then after clicking run, it shows a window saying it is extracting files.  But when the progress par is full, it disappears and nothing else happens.  It just dies.

Am I doing something wrong?  Do I need a different installer for my OS?  Or is .Net 3.5 incompatible with Wind 7 Ultimate 64Bit...?  I really need to get this issue resolved.

  • Hi Sparrownightmare,

.NET Framework 3.5.1 is part of Windows 7, and can be turned on by:

Control Panel -> Programs and Features -> Turn Windows Features on or off.

I hope that solves your issue.
