some SQL databases do not show up on the DPM console RRS feed

  • Question

  • hi,

So, we are running DPM 2012R2, fully patched and we are trying to protect a fully patched SQL 2014 system.

When we try adding a member to a protection group only selected (builtin: master, model, msdb, etc.) databases show up in the console. None of the later created databases are showing up.

    • All Shares
    • All Volumes
    • System Protection

    are there.

Also, SQL Sever VSS writer is running on the VM I am trying to protect.

  • Hi, I had a similar issue where SQL databases were not showing up after I installed the agent. I fixed it by adding my DPM service account into the database permissions. If you have multiple databases, then suggest saving time by adding the DPM service account into systemadmin role if your SQL DBA allows. Then I restarted the SQL server, refreshed the agent, and it showed the missing databases. Hope that helps.
