Need help using steady state with dual boot (XP and Vista) RRS feed

  • General discussion

  • Haven't been able to protect the drives using Steady State. Is there any way to do it when you have a dual boot situation? (Booting XP and Vista)

  • Hi Lee,

    Thank you for posting here!

I am not clear what happened on your side. Would you please help me clarify the following questions first?

    1. What’s the SteadyState version? (2.0 or 2.5 beta)

    2. Which OS was installed on drive C?

    3. Do you have SteadyState installed on both systems?

    4. Is there problem when trying to enable Windows Disk Protection (WDP) ?

    5. Is there problem when restarting the computer? Please post the error message if there is.

Based on the document of SteadyState, WDP only protects the Windows system partition. After clarifying the above question, I will test this issue on my side.

    Best Regards,
