Creating DSN with driver 'SQL Server Driver' after weaker SSL has been disabled.

    Question

  • Env Details:
Operating System: Windows Server 12 Standard Edition.
    SQL Server: 2016 standard edition.

Folks, the IT team of our organization has disabled the Weaker SSL (I guess SSL 2.0, 3.0, TLS 1.1).
Since then, we are not able to create the DSN using the driver "SQL Server Driver".
We get the following message when we try to create the DSN.

    ERROR MESSAGE DETAILS.

    Connection Failed:
    SqlState: '01000'
    sql server error: 1
    [microsoft][odbc sql server driver][Shared Memory]Connectionopen
    (SECCreateCredentials()).
    connection failed:
    SQL State: '08001'
    SQL Server Error:18
    [Microsoft][ODBC SQL Server Driver][Shared Memory]SSL Security error

Enabling FIPs is not an option.
Just for our Testing, we enabled the FIPs and we could sucessfully create the DSN.
However, enabling FIPs is not an option we have.
