  • No you can't unless the item in question was created by an incoming email on an email-enabled doc lib, and you have run the stsadm command to allow this to happen.  For anything else, System Account can't start the workflow.

  • My scenario is an item is created by incoming mail in doc lib and the workflow start automatically.

Then a task item is created in the task list and the workflow associated with the task list can't trigger automatically using the sytem account.

    So what's the solution?

  • Finally I used an event receiver to start the workflow associated to the task list.
